Position Overview

Electra.aero, Inc., a next-gen aerospace technology company, seeks a dynamic and strategic VP of Human Resources. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a key business partner providing hands-on operational and strategic HR leadership across domestic and international operations. You'll shape our culture, recruit top talent, create a world-class experience for our employees, support leadership, and ensure HR systems and processes scale with growth, to support Electra's vision to bring sustainable air travel to communities everywhere.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic and Disciplined HR Leadership

- Align HR strategy with company goals and growth initiatives

- Team with the CEO as cultural architect and leadership coach, proactively building a development organization system and culture across Electra

- Develop HR policies, programs, and procedures that reflect our mission and values

- Drive accountability and discipline with respect to HR processes and execution

Talent Acquisition & Management

- Lead and scale recruitment efforts, with a focus on diversity and excellence in technical hiring

- Drive performance management, succession planning, and leadership development

- Design, continuously improve, and manage impactful compensation and benefits programs

Employee Experience & Development

- Build and reinforce workplace culture focused on openness, continuous improvement, and accountability

- Implement onboarding, training, and development programs

- Partner with educational institutions and third parties to expand talent recruitment channels and skill development opportunities for teammates

Compliance & Systems

- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all HR matters (domestic and international)

- Oversee HRIS implementation and continuous process improvement

- Manage immigration processes and employee benefits compliance (e.g., 5500s, testing)

Data & Financial Oversight

- Manage HR budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness

- Deliver actionable HR analytics and insights to leadership

- Support SLT colleagues in forecasting headcount growth, anticipating critical skill needs, and building proactive talent sourcing plans in view of the needs

Immediate Priorities

  1. Recruitment Ramp-Up: Scale hiring to meet growth, especially technical roles
  2. Training & Development: Build in-house training offerings and external training partnerships
  3. Performance & Compensation Systems: Evaluate and optimize systems to drive high performance

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree, with HR or related field being a plus; PHR/SPHR preferred

- 10+ years leading the HR function, including generalist and recruitment experience

- A desire to create a great company, and a thoughtful and flexible perspective on how to do so.

- Experience in HRIS evaluation and implementation

- Excellent communication, analytics, and strategic thinking skills

- Empathetic leader with a collaborative, hands-on approach

- Analytical with excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.

- Startup experience a significant plus

Location:

  • Headquarters in Manassas, VA. To encourage close collaboration, this position is onsite daily in the office, with some virtual work allowed
Salary:
Electra's salary range for this position is: $200,000 - $230,000 USD
Our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum range for the Company level overall across all locations & projects and does not necessarily reflect the budgeted amount for this position. Individual pay is based on additional factors, including project budgets, job-related skills, experience, relevant education and/or training, role, level, location, and project.
