What you will do:
We are looking for an energetic administrative professional to join Electra as Office Manager. This is a position for someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, has experience working with multiple vendors, has a strong aptitude for technology, and is comfortable in a fast-paced start-up environment. The Office Manager has day-to-day management of facilities, offices, site vendors, and other hybrid administrative/ operational tasks and reports to the Director of Administration (filled in the interim by the CEO). They are vital to managing day-to-day internal business processes and supporting the business's functional departments with their administrative/operational needs. The position is located onsite daily in Manassas, VA.
No day will look the same at Electra, as the work is frequently determined by the dynamic activities that affect the office. You can expect to:
- Manage all aspects of the organization's office services to ensure smooth functioning of the company's headquarters.
- Manage the company's two facilities and serve as the on-site point person for maintenance, supplies, and some office/site equipment.
- Select and manage site vendors to deliver the above facilities and office management functions; select and manage equipment purchases and supplies necessary for the offices.
- Support the company's relationships with the airport and landlord, maintaining strong relationships with the working staff of both.
- Create professional analysis, memos, presentations, spreadsheets, etc., to support assigned projects and Senior Leadership Team decision-making.
- Manage the Company's Office Specialists who support the Office Manager in delivering his/her functional responsibilities.
- Play an integral role in ensuring the success of the office through effective organization, prioritization, and a hands-on approach.
- Proactively manage and prioritize calendars that support the use of company facilities, and make administrative decisions and requests for information based on an understanding of business priorities.
- Assist in developing office policies and procedures for improved workflow and support the continued growth of the business with a focus on developing scalable assets.
- Prioritize and carry out special projects and complex assignments as needed, exercising frequent independent judgment, initiative, and tact.
- Other Duties as assigned.

Your work will require independent judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and the development of detailed knowledge of the company's operations, procedures, and people.
- Extremely proficient in MS Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Project) and a proven aptitude for technology and software.

- Maturity, solid judgment, and the ability to interact with confidence with executive management
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing work environment and handling multiple responsibilities at the same time.
- A strong work ethic and ability to independently meet and lead the areas described in the responsibilities and essential functions.
- Experience leading processes or administrative/operational teams, preferably in a start-up environment.
- Ability to adapt well to change.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, administration, operations, aerospace, finance, project management, or other related business discipline; and
- 5+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
Additional Desired Skills:
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Experience in coaching and supervision of staff and building customer relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in establishing organizational goals, implementing value-added process improvements, and building high-performance teams with a customer focus.
- Ability to select, build, and motivate high-performance work teams.
- US Person (Citizen or Green Card) Preferred
Working Conditions:
- Work is typically performed in an office and warehouse/aviation environment, which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in handling light materials, boxes, power tools, prototypes, various materials, or equipment. Due to the nature of the projects, some fieldwork may be required, working in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
Location: HQ in Manassas, VA. To encourage close collaboration on a complex program, this position requires daily onsite office hours.
